On his whistle-stop tour of Kiltimagh this week, Taoiseach Enda Kenny began his day with a visit to Craggagh School where he was given a rousing reception by children, parents and teachers alike. Mr Kenny was welcomed by Principal Danny Charlton and was presented with a copy of Kiltimagh poet Terry McDonagh’s book “Cill Aodain And Nowhere Else” by two of the youngest children in the school, Conor Dwyer and Oisín Cronin. The Taoiseach was joined by Castlebar Mayor Ger Deere whose Great Grandmother went to school in Craggagh, as well as Councillor Eugene Lavin, John O Mahony, TD and Jin Higgins, MEP. Mr Kenny thanked all present for the great turn-out and spoke to parents of the continuing importance of our small schools.
