Mayo Captain and All Star Footballer Andy Moran visited us on May 16th.
Craggagh was awash with red and green as the children waited excitedly for their hero to arrive! Andy didn't disappoint. He talked about the very important work of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice, their fundraising efforts and their plans for the future.
Andy also spent a long time answering all the children's questions. We learned that he spends around 12 to 15 hours per week training! He told us about his diet and about the efforts he makes to make himself a better footballer....this currently includes yoga!
Andy spoke at length about the dangers for some of our older pupils, particularly smoking.
Finally, Andy raffled a signed Mayo jersey. This was won by Dylan O Shea. Poor Dylan has spent a lot of time in hospital recently and we haven't seen him in a while...this should put a pep in his step again!
